Poet Lore is a biannual print journal of poetry, essays, and reviews, published with the conviction that poetry provides a record of human experience as valuable as history. Book-length issues deliver poems that make concerns of our moment both urgent and intimate.

Back Issues

Back issues can be purchased for $10 (plus shipping) if available. Please email managing editor Emily Holland ( for all back issue requests.

Gift Subscription

To purchase a gift subscription, you’ll make your purchase as normal until you are prompted for shipping information. At that point, please type in the address of the recipient as the shipping address. Please also add a note to the seller stating that “this is a gift subscription/issue.” Then, you’ll proceed with checkout as normal.

Payment Online

Your payment will be processed via our subscription order page. Once your order is finished, you’ll receive a confirmation from Poet Lore / The Writer’s Center. If you’re purchasing multiple subscriptions as gifts, please give us a call at 301-654-8664.
